Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Took so long to catch this movie~~

Anyway, I love the way Robert Downey Jr. played the role of Sherlock Holmes. At the beginning of the movie, Sherlock Holmes and Watson caught Lord Blackwood red-handed practicing black arts on a lady sacrifice. Thus, Lord Blackwood was sentenced to death. However, he has risen from the dead after he was being hung and both Holmes and Watson set then set out to search for the truth and what Blackwood is after.

Guess as much that there are plenty of reviews out there, read them if you want. Otherwise watch it for yourself. I am more of an action/adventure/sci-fi/fantasy person, not so much on romance and horror. Which means, I love this movie! LOL

*cheers*

2010 Resolution

Yet again, it's a new year. Kind of don't wish for it to happen so soon~ It just means I'm getting older, and also a step further to join the workforce.

Alright, let's not go about the thing about age. Anyway, I have been thinking for the day about my new year resolution. Here's a list:

  1. Get a job. Preferably a job I like.
  2. Take more photos!!
  3. Slim down and needa keep fit (means more exercise).
  4. Change my mobile phone plan.
  5. Build a desktop after I get a job.
  6. Blog more frequently.
  7. Get to Level 80 for my hunter in WoW.
  8. Stay calm and not blow out my top.
  9. Eat more fruits and vegetables.
  10. Save up money. (Depends on how much my salary is. I will plan)
  11. Prolly, settle for a car if everything looks well and good. (Have to see to it, see if I can manage).
Yupz. So ya, these are some things I thought about. Not so much though, but ya.. It all boils down to money...No job, no money.

My daddy knows that I am jobless and knows that I'm pretty broke~! And he wanted to loan me some, but I told him not to. Don't wanna use his money. If he keep lending me, I will only spend all. So ya, must control.

Yeaps, I know I haven't been blogging because of school. Now I've time, but am on the look out for jobs. Sending resume and stuffs. Hope to get a reply from one of the company soon.

Gonna sleep now, Nights all~

Bday Celebration

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!! I spent this day together with my boyfriend and 3 best girl-friends (LW, HM and Esther) .

All along I thought I was meeting LW to chill out before I meet my bf for dinner. While I was at Library@Esplanade playing my dsi, I was replying sms-es and stuffs. Suddenly my bf walked to me with a bouquet of flowers. Totally shocked!! Made a call to LW to tell her about it and we decide to meet another day.

So my bf and I went shopping for a pair of heels. You can hear me coming from the other end of the room, cause my heels are spoilt!! LOL. Went Marina Square, then to Orchard to shop! it was so hard to find myself a pair of nice heels cause my left foot is about 1 size bigger than my right foot. LOL! Finally found a pair from paragon and the service was so good!! *smiles* After that, we walked towards Wheelock Place and up the escalator towards Sun with Moon.

When we reached, my bf asked me to close my eyes. And he slowly bring me in. When he asked me to open, I saw 2 of my best girl-friends infront of me. I shocked siax!! haha.. So happy la~~ Suddenly out of nowhere my girl-friends appear, superly happy!! After awhile Esther came!! I have absolutely no idea!! It was such a surprised I almost teared.. haha

We chit chat for so long, they gave me prezzie, a Charles & Keith handbag, classy look! And it's so nice!! Thank you Thank you!! My bf gave me a prezzie too! I opened it and I was shocked!! A new Exlim camera. Super sleek and nice :)

The service was real bad, but we closed one eye and let them off! We are nice people :)

Really am surprised, and appreciated the time you all take out to celebrate with me :) *Loves*
and lotsa *huggies*

Back from Indonesia [Day Two]

Time was 6am SG time on my iPhone when I woked up. Mom hits the bathroom before I do. It was so early! Local time was 5am. The sky was bright already and we headed to the lounge for breakfast.

The air is fresh and the food is not that bad. Cereals, omelette, porridge, bread and coffee. It has been so long since I used the internet, and I was desperately trying to log into the hotel network but I failed. I know I can use my room number and the last name of the person who booked the hotel or something like that, but the person who booked the hotel wasn't my dad. So I decided not to use it until I reached back home.

It was about an hour before my dad's friend came to meet us for a half day tour, thus we decided to take a stroll around the hotel, watching golfers do their thing.

We went to Borobudur temple and we had a little lecture/tour around the temple. It's huge!! After the walk, we sat down for a couple of drinks and snacks, well they say the chendol is good. My first ever chendol in my life, it is a pinky liquid after I mixed the drink and it is so sweet. The mango we had is also sweet.

We travelled back to somewhere nearer to the hotel for lunch at Ikan Bakar. Lotsa spicy food and very delicous. My tongue was burning after my first mouthful.

The 2 shopping malls I went doesn't really have clothes that I would wear. The first mall is a newer and bigger shopping mall that has plenty of shops and some of the shops are repeated shops. The second I went was as big as heartland mall and the prices there are lower compared to the first.

Dinner was at one of my dad's supplier for food when the factory there just started out. The restaurant there is like a shop house back here. The food they served are more Chinese and appears to be more home-cooked food.

Back from Indonesia [Day One]

My trip to Indonesia on the 17 to 19 October was more like a tagging-along trip! I followed my parents, my 5th aunt and her husband. Daddy has to attend a dinner which will launch a new large format copier machine.

I was stunned when I reached Yogya. I didn't think that there are such immigration center which is like only 2 immigration counter and there after you walked afew steps, you reached the carpark/ pick up point. It was really small, and daddy told me the airplane runway was smaller than the usual ones.

Photobucket
This is the restaurant we went for lunch.

The food is served.
Photobucket
And they calculate the plates that we eat, like in Sakae sushi..

Daddy's client came and fetch us before we headed down to their so-called 'Restaurant'. We went to the community center where the dinner will be held to settle some arrangements. After that, it was a short drive to the factory. The guard opened the gate for us and we were in the factory-cum-office.

We first visited the first factory-room where it was all dark and dirty. The light bulbs were all black due to the toner dusts and stuffs. The machines were huge! Alright, not as huge as those in bigger factories. Anyway, we had to walked across a pathway that isn't made in cement but filled with small rough rocks and I was wearing heals. Gosh!! Finally the tiptoe session across the pathway came to an end, and I found myself facing a dog. Though it was a mutt, it was so cute and it kept biting my hand. I think it is still teething. the second factory is still in construction and the staffs were actually doing the place up and the machine by themselves. Interesting huh? The place where they put things together were just next to it and it was huge. It's interesting to see that the staffs took parts out from the old copier machines and place it into another to make a new copier. This is the refurnishing part.

This is where we parked in the factory-cum-office

This is the first factory, taken near the entrance. Thus, it looks brighter.

After the factory visit, we headed to the main office to take a seat and rest from the heat outside. We were served with snakeskin fruit and coffee.
Photobucket
Snake Skin looks like this.

Since there were sometime before the dinner start and my dad doesn't want us to wait in the communnity center while they rehearse, his client and him decided to put my aunt, mom and me to a Spa which was only available at 4pm. So we have about half hour to spare before the appointment. His client brought us to his mansion and yet again, a guard opens the gate for him after he pressed the honk of his car. It is huge! The main hall is the size of 2 badminton courts and they have a guest house separated from their main building/house by a huge garden.

Photobucket
Daddy striking a pose at the front of the mansion.

Photobucket
The place we had spa.

The spa consists of massaging, body steam, body scrub, body mask and manicure/peddicure. One person is about SGD35 after I calculated. It was about 3 hrs and it was super enjoying and relaxing. We headed to Hyatt Hotel to freshened up before going for the dinner. The 3hrs of spa made me missed my daddy's speech. I was so sad. I heard that his speech was funny. The entire dinner event was in Malay and I didn't understand a thing, but I enjoyed the dinner. The food, the hip hop dance and the magicians were hysterical!

The day came to a close when I went back to the hotel. I couldn't sleep due to the rythmn coming from the drum/bass from the dinning area of the hotel.

Results for CSCI 319 and 368

My younger sister has nothing better to do today since today is her last paper. She followed me to NYP to meet my groupmates. As we were having our omelete rice, my leader told us that the results were out.

I was so worried about it and thought I might not be able to cleared 319 - Distributed System. The paper was so difficult and i almost tear because it's too difficult. Oh well, I ask WS help me check cause I don't dare to see my results. In the end I got a distinction, pretty shocked. However, the other module I thought it was easier, and I expected a Credit but in the end a pass. Oh well, cleared both modules.

Now I left one module and my FYP before I grad. :) cheerios

A noob experiencing stuffs!

Alright, I have a jap wii console and it is semi-brick. haha. I solved it the previous time with the exact same disc tired today. But it can't work. So I decided to google for solutions.

Well, what i read was to install homebrew channel and then use any region changer to change the region. So that my console is back to it's current region settings.

How this semi-brick come about?
I (accidentally *cough* inserted *cough* Mario disc) into my Wii Jap console, and it did an update. Obviously, my maro disc is not the Japan region, thus, the result of a semi-brick. This time it is more serious than the previous! Previously, I can go into the Wii Settings menu and change some of the settings, except one of the functions in the Wii Settings. This time round, I cannot even access the Wii Settings.

Solution
2 different ways to solve it:
1) Get a game of the Wii Region with newer updates and run the disc
2) Install homebrew channel and then change the region. however, u need to connect to the internet when you do the region change.

Problems
I can't connect my Wii to my internet. haha. Don't ask me to go to my settings cause I can't even get into it. I tried to use the weather channel and also couldn't connect to my internet. LOL

Pretty noob huh?!
Should have bought the USA set, dunno what has gotten over me to buy the JAP set.

FYP meet ups

Why am I on mobile when I got my laptop here in school.. Well, that's because my grpmate is using mine..
There is only one main laptop that all the integration is done. And yes, it's my laptop. Gosh.. It is tough integrating the different java codes. Moreover, now I have reached a thousand line with many classes in one file. This is quite unprofessional!! It is unlike me to dump all into a file. It's so confusing but well, it's easier to send it to my friends and also it's easier because I got alot of referencing and stuffs.. Oh well, I will tidy the call later on.
I will prolly stay in school till late to tidy the code before I send to my grpmates whr they can work on it. I didn't have much comments currently, so it's more confusing. Haha!
Plenty of work to be done...

@ NUS

What is a SIM student doing NUS? Oh well, was just bored and decided to come here to meet my primary school friend for maybe snack before I meet WS before we head back home together, since we are all staying in the north-east area. So here I am trying to do some research for my group meeting tomorrow.. And as expected, my friend ditch me to head back home to mug..It's alright, next time we will meet again.

Java. User Interaction. Drag and Drop. Game-like structure. They are all giving me a headache when I am already feeling so unwell. I hope I can figure out something tonight. I am not a Java-Guru and I wished I am!! LOL Perhaps if I was, I would probably be able to finished half of the FYP by now, instead of doing all the research. Oh well, time to go back to do my work.

FYP - Demo Prototype

Just finished my Demo for the prototype earlier today. It was terrible! My supervisor only met us twice. One was the very first meeting where we had a briefing on what should be done. The other time was yesterday at NYP. We had to go down from school after lecture to meet him.
Although we were shot by Adrian's questions, we seemed to be moving in a correct direction. However, if we were to continue building the application in full java codes, we are meeting doom. I don't think I can produce it out using Java. There's too many functions to be built/code and I am not a guru in java.. my group isn't too. I would think that it is more appropriate to use flash, since there's user interaction using it.
Anyway, I will continue to improve the program using Java first and see how things goes. We might not be able to finish the code using java. Things are really bad and I have a pretty sorethroat and flu.
Oh well, this is life of an IT student :)
